Shot Count Task (JR & DS)
The song I am shot counting is Bruno Mars - The Lazy Song this is because this video is not like the typical video. There is only one shot throughout the whole of the video because all of the action is done through the performers, bruno mars and a few of monkey friends. The camera is placed upon a table and then they dance around it. The effect of this is great, the video is that interesting that you do not want to take your eyes off it.
Applying new media concepts (JR)
Genre: The genre of the video is pop-dance song, we can see this through the style of the music and the video setting is placed in a club where the young generation of people are drinking and having a good time.
Narrative: The narrative of the song is a woman (DEV) Leading people into a club and the rapper (Far east movement) is spending a lot of his money on private jets and cars etc.
Audience: The audience of this video would probably be directed at people around the age group of 15-30 but most likely mid 20's as this song is happening in a club; which could possibly suggest that the song would be played in those places in real life. Also, the 15-18 year olds would listen to it considering it's the typical chart music song.
Representation: The males in this song are represented as the typical male where they like to spend their money on flashy things (cars, private jet, alcohol). The women in the background of the video are wearing revealing clothing to bring in a wider male audience whereas DEV is representing the female gender and she is the leader of the party - female dominance.
